I have IBS, depression and anxiety, back problems, and chronic headaches; I've been dealing with all of these conditions for years, and since 2004 when I was a teenager, I've been on long-term prescriptions that I expect to continue for the rest of my life. Ever since I got old enough to understand the need for health insurance, I've worried about it, because I know I can't afford the healthcare I need without it. Currently, I have good insurance through my employer, but I know how quickly that can change. Friends and family would be badly affected by the destruction of ACA too–I have a friend with severe depression who is only able to hold down a job because Medicaid lets her get the meds she needs, and my 60-year-old mom is in the exact age and income bracket to be hit hardest by rising premiums.
